These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services provided through the Containd application, related app variants or feature sets operated by the Provider, and their associated backend systems (collectively, the “Services”).

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. By using the Services, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Containd provides functionality for managing, organizing, searching, and enriching personal inventory or list data. Certain features rely on artificial intelligence (“AI”) systems and third-party services (e.g., barcode databases, cloud infrastructure, external APIs).
Depending on the app, version, or enabled feature set, the Services may also include optional authenticated cloud features such as syncing app data or files through Provider-managed infrastructure, syncing appointment data with a user’s Google Calendar, and sharing online state, availability, active timers, or current task context with selected users who also have eligible accounts.
Optional cloud sync and cloud sharing features may store or process data in services such as Firebase Authentication, Firestore, or Firebase Storage, protected by account authentication and applicable security rules. These features are intended to support continuity across devices and selected sharing workflows. They are not a replacement for regular backups, and are not guaranteed to be available at all times or to preserve every version of your data.
Experimental cloud sync and sharing. Cloud sync and cloud sharing are developing service features. They are provided primarily for cross-device syncing and sharing selected data with users you choose. You remain responsible for maintaining independent backups of important data, including by using the app's integrated backup feature.
Cloud sync and sharing may require an available virtual credit balance. Syncing, uploading, sharing updates, or other cloud operations may pause, be delayed, or become unavailable when your credit balance is depleted, when quotas are exceeded, or when technical limits apply. Credits depletion alone is not intended to prevent you from downloading synced data, subject to technical availability, account access, abuse prevention, and any applicable download quota.
Some service features may be offered free of charge at a given time. The Provider may later introduce fees, credits, quotas, usage caps, download allowances, or other conditions for those features, or may reduce, suspend, or discontinue them.
Local reminders and optional remote push notifications. Some app versions may let you create reminders that are stored and scheduled on your device. These local reminders do not require login or backend delivery. Separately, the Services may support optional remote push notifications delivered through third-party notification infrastructure. Remote push may be available even if you are not signed in, provided you have accepted the Privacy Policy, enabled the in-app remote push setting, and granted OS notification permission.
If you are signed in when remote push is enabled, the current push token may be associated with your account identifier so account-related notifications can be targeted to that token. The system uses the push token as the delivery identifier and does not rely on a stable device ID. If you disable remote push in the app, the app is expected to de-register the token and clear local push-registration state. If you later re-enable remote push and OS permission is still granted, the token may be registered again. If you delete your account, the app is expected to deactivate the current token before deletion, and the backend may also clean up remaining account-linked token records.
The Services may change, evolve, or be discontinued at any time.
The Services may include content generated automatically using artificial intelligence.

The Provider does not guarantee uninterrupted or continuous availability of the Services.
The Services (or parts thereof) may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party outages, force majeure events, or other reasons.
Some features depend on third-party systems that may impose quotas, rate limits, storage limits, bandwidth limits, or usage restrictions (for example, Google API limits for calendar sync, or limits affecting Firebase-backed cloud sync and sharing features). Such limits may cause delays, reduced functionality, or temporary or permanent unavailability.
The Provider reserves the right to modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice.
This includes the right to change whether a feature is free, paid, credit-based, quota-limited, download-limited, invite-only, or otherwise conditionally available.
Certain features of the Services may require the purchase of prepaid usage units or credits (“Credits”). Credits are purchased through the in-app payment systems provided by Apple or Google and are managed with the help of RevenueCat.
Credits may be used for AI requests, cloud sync, cloud sharing, uploads, sync operations, or other paid service features as described in the app. Cloud sync and sharing generally work only while sufficient Credits or an applicable free allowance are available. If Credits are depleted, paid cloud operations may pause or be disabled until additional Credits or allowance are available. Credits depletion alone is not intended to prevent you from downloading synced data, subject to technical availability and any applicable download quota.
Other features may be offered free of charge for some users, apps, regions, or periods of time. The Provider may start charging for such features in the future, may attach quotas or usage caps to them, or may discontinue them, subject to applicable law.
The Provider may offer a limited number of free Credits per month. This complimentary allocation is voluntary, may change in amount or be discontinued at any time, and does not create an entitlement or ongoing right.
Credit pricing, feature prices, usage rates, free allowances, download quotas, and any additional charges for exceeding download quotas are displayed within the app where applicable and are subject to change. Additional costs related to exceeded download quotas may require manual review or manual processing. Changes will be communicated through the app's news feature or other reasonable means before taking effect.
You acknowledge and agree that:
If you are unable to reasonably use purchased Credits primarily due to a fault within the Provider’s control, you may contact the Provider to request a refund or credit adjustment.
Such requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and granted at the Provider’s reasonable discretion, unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.
Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are not refundable except as explicitly described above or where required by applicable law. Unused Credits do not guarantee future access to any specific price, quota, allowance, or feature configuration.
Service unavailability caused solely by third-party providers or force majeure events does not automatically qualify as a fault within the Provider’s control.
You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

The Services are provided as a contained system, and any use outside the intended application environment is prohibited.
Violation of these rules may result in suspension or permanent termination of your account, at the Provider's sole discretion.
The Provider may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, misuse the Services, attempt unauthorized access, or pose a risk to system integrity or other users.
Suspension or termination may occur without prior notice where necessary to protect the Services.
All rights, title, and interest in the Services, including software, content, algorithms, designs, and branding, remain the exclusive property of the Provider or applicable licensors.
These Terms grant you no ownership rights, only a limited right to use the Services as intended.
Your content. You retain all rights to the content you create or upload through the app (e.g., inventory data, photos, notes). The Provider does not claim ownership of your content. By using the Services, you grant the Provider a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely to the extent necessary to provide the features you have enabled (for example, to analyze images for AI-based item recognition, to store synced data in authenticated cloud infrastructure, to share selected data or status information with contacts you choose, or to sync appointments with your Google Calendar).
Some features depend on third-party services. The Provider is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, reliability, or behavior of third-party systems.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms and conditions.
Google services (calendar sync). If you choose to connect a Google account to enable calendar-related features, your use of those features is subject to applicable Google terms and policies. Google may enforce quotas and rate limits that affect how and when such features work. The Provider does not control Google’s systems and cannot guarantee that these features will always be available, timely, or error-free.
Firebase and related Google Cloud services. Some optional service features rely on infrastructure such as Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Firebase Storage, Hosting, or related Google Cloud services to authenticate users, store synced data, transfer files, or support optional sharing functionality. These systems may experience outages, delays, storage limits, quota restrictions, or policy changes outside the Provider’s control.
Remote push delivery providers. Optional remote push notifications may be sent through Expo's push service and then through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), depending on platform. Delivery depends on those third-party systems, device state, OS permissions, and token validity, and is not guaranteed.
Presence and sharing features. Some app versions may allow you to share online state, availability, active timer information, or current task context with selected contacts who also have eligible accounts. You are responsible for choosing recipients appropriately. The Provider does not guarantee that presence information will be delivered in real time, remain continuously visible, or always reflect a user's exact current state.
RevenueCat (purchase management). In-app purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing and managed via RevenueCat. Your use of these payment platforms is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Provider disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or reliability.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Provider from claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your unlawful conduct.
The Provider may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or website. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence remain unaffected.
